Ministry Experience

“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.” - John 10:10

The Journey through Ministry

It was never something I imagined I’d be doing, especially when I was in High School. But God is a funny one. I was actually forced by my parents to attend a “youth camp.” This was out of the ordinary stuff for a try-hard-to-be-cool person I was at 18 years old.

What started as an obligation has now led me to one heck of a journey filled with friendship, learning, growth, self-discovery, challenges, discomfort, faith, bravery and a whole lot of things that one webpage could fit.

I made the transition from volunteer to full-time pastoral worker on February 1st, 2001. This “job” has taken me across the globe, from the poorest slums of the Philippines to the pink sands of Bermuda. It’s allowed me to set foot in a lot of different places in Canada. As well as live amongst Mountains and Seas, and be one with all those people searching for something better, just like me.

Along the way I got married and got my wife and our daughter that came 9 months later, to travel alongside with me, to continue the work God has now given all of us as to accomplish as a family.

In 2011, I not only celebrated 10 years as a ministry person, not just the birth of a son, but a new adventure in sharing my gifts, experiences, life and talents with those who may need it.

So pray for me, as I’ll pray for you. That at the end of each day, we are fulfilled, knowing that in whatever big or small way that we’ve done what we were called to do.

I look forward to hearing from you. God Bless.

My Work Experience

I was employed with the International Lay Organization, Couples For Christ for 11 years, focusing on the organizations young adult ministry,  Singles For Christ for the last four years of my stay. Prior to that, I was with CFC YOUTH (formerly known as CFC Youth For Christ) for 6+ years stationed in Vancouver, Edmonton & Calgary throughout that time.

My Strengths In Ministry

I’m a strong communicator.

I work best when I’m side by side with individuals and groups to help organize, motivate and empower. I can also be utilized as a guest speaker. I’ve had the chance to speak in front of audiences ranging from as little as 10 to a field of 15,000 people. I’m able to get those hard, sticky, tough to understand concepts of the Gospel and make it chewable and palatable for any audience. Mainly through multimedia, a comedic sense of timing and the use of pop culture references and heartfelt testimonies coming from my own growing experiences.

I’m creative.

I’ve got a certificate in Desktop Publishing, and have conceptualized graphically and otherwise for conferences ranging from 50 to 1200 people. I’m able to translate a central message or theme of an event/ministry/group into visual design, user experience and formation and programming. I believe that the accumulated details play a huge role in any message or mission.

I’m a visionary.

I can take the lead, or enhance your team’s vision for whatever project needs a push. My years with Couples For Christ has given me hands-on experience with event management, creative direction setting and long term ministry planning.
