Social School

After summer’s over, it’s time for school again.
And when I say summer I mean: 12 years of life experiences through travelling, getting married, having kids, designing, meeting awesome people. and just trying to be awesome.
I’ve enrolled myself in an online course covering Social Media and the first day of class not so coincidentally is today . So to keep my mind fresh, I figured it’s about time that I really get back into blogging shape and try to document as much of this new undertaking as possible.
I’ve always been a bit more on the conservative side when it comes to status updates, tweets and even writing blogs. At this point, my current philosophy with regards to my social media updates is “Just post gems.” I really try not to post every little detail no matter how awesome, insightful or even boring my day to day is. It really does take a lot for me to actually post something because in the end, I really don’t want to bombard your news feed with silliness. There’s only so many pictures I can take of myself, my food or rant about that customer at the front of the line you know? The only drawback to this approach, is that I can get lazy, and just not post at all. Which I do fall victim to more often than not.
This new course I’m taking will push me to post more gems, more often. Which means, greater effort in digging into myself to give you the best of myself. Which in the end, I can hopefully start a worthwhile and healthy discussion. I’m hoping to get a deeper understanding of all this Twitter and FaceBook fun, and the endless possibilities that it can provide communities online and offline.
Anyhow, back to my school work. Wait… this is my school work.
Awesome! Time for recess.
