The Numbers Game

*beware: this is a rant (which we are all entitled to every once and awhile)

Dear Heroes,

Jumping right in… I think it’s time for you to stop hiding, or playing coy. I know sometimes it seems you’re persecuted and ridiculed and deemed uncool, but we need you now!

This world seems a lil bit self-obsessed, unless I’m misinterpreting all these Facebook pictures and YouTube videos; and since we’re busy with all that stuff, all the good things you do go unnoticed. I know you’re not seeking praise, which is awesome, but your stories of courage, selflessness, compassion and focus need to be known more. To be honest, I’d rather have my news feed and my twitter feed overflowing with awesomeness, rather than just distractions.

It’s hard sometimes to do the right thing consistently, but if we work together maybe you can keep me accountable to be the best, and vice versa. If we combine forces we can help others do the same as well. Strength in numbers right?

Anyhow, keep doing what you’re doing. Although I may not know about it all the time, just knowing you’re genuinely and sincerely trying to be selfless and mindful of others motivates me that much more to do the same.
